St. Barrfoin of Killbarron, Hermit
6th century. Few details are certain about the life of Saint Barrfoin. Saint Columba is said to have put Barrfoin in charge of the church he founded at Drum Cullen Offaly. Afterwards, Barrfoin lived at Killbarron, near Ballyshannon, in Donegal. He may have reached America on one of his missions by sea, and informed Saint Brendan of his discovery.
