Troparion — Tone 4
You were bound for good deeds, O martyr of Christ: George; / by faith you conquered the torturer’s godlessness. / You were offered as a sacrifice pleasing to God; / thus you received the crown of victory. / Through your intercessions, forgiveness of sins is granted to all.

Kontakion — Tone 4
God raised you as his own gardener, O George, / for you have gathered for yourself the sheaves of virtue. / Having sown in tears, you now reap with joy; / you shed your blood in combat and won Christ as your crown. / Through your intercessions, forgiveness of sins is granted to all.

Saint IBAR, apôtre en Irlande (Vème siècle).

Troparion of St Ibar
Tone 8
Thou didst prepare the way for Saint Patrick by thy fearless preaching in Ireland, O holy Father Ibar.
Pray for the present dwellers in Meath and Leinster and for all in these Islands,
that the true Faith may spread in our own days, to the glory of God.

St. Aethelbert, King of Wessex

St. Ethelred, King of England

St. Suairleach, Abbot of Magheralin, County of Down.

April 23 is the commemoration of an eighth-century abbot of the monastery of Linn Duachaille, Saint Suairleach.

St. Meithcearn.
On the Irish calendars April 23 is primarily the feast of Saint Ibar, but he shares the day with a much more obscure saint, Meithcearn, of whom all we know is the recording of his name in the calendars, as Canon O'Hanlon explains:
