Saint SINCHEALL, disciple de saint Patrick, fondateur de monastère en Irlande (Vème siècle)
Sincheall, un des premiers Romains convertis par Saint Patrick, était l'Abbé-fondateur du Monastère et de l'Ecole à Killeigh dans l'Offaly en Irlande où il avait cent cinquante Moines sous sa direction. La communauté, devenue papiste, prospéra jusqu'au seizième siècle. Il vécut en Ermite dans le Clane au Comté de Kildare, fonda ensuite une communauté dans la paroisse papiste actuelle de Killeigh au Comté d'Offaly. Killeigh est dérivé de Cill Achaidh qui est son nom original. Deux Saints de ce nom ont résidé à Killeigh. Le Martyrologe de Donegal a ce vers à propos de Saint Senchell : "Les hommes du Ciel, les hommes de la terre, de partout, pensaient que le jour du Jugement c'était la mort de Seancheall. Il ne vint pas, il ne viendra pas d'Adam, un plus austère, un plus 7 strict dans la piété; il ne vint pas, il ne viendra pas, tous le disent, un autre Saint plus bienvenu aux Hommes du Ciel."
